Rockport was founded in 1971. The focus of the father and son business was to produce lightweight comfortable shoes using advanced shoe making technologies and material. At first they catered for a home (US) market, but soon Rockports were in demand overseas. The company added a woman’s Walking Pump in 1989 then a boat shoe and the XCS Extreme Conditions System a little later. Today their range includes stylish comfort in the form of casual shoes, sandals, boots and oxfords that can easily perform on all kinds of outdoor terrain. Rockport shoes are well established with the ‘30 something’ demographic but have switched emphasis to attract younger customers in their Established 1971 collection. Following what now seems to be an established marketing strategy the company have engaged the services of high profile figures to endorse their products. Coltrane Curtis (MTV’s Official Style Guru) has been added to the line up of celebrities to promote the Rockport Company’s Established 1971 collection. The Rockport Established 1971 ad campaign also features boho metrosexuals; Lyfe Jennings (R&B singer), Wood Harris (actor), and Yung Joc (hip hopper). The theme of the new advertising campaign incorporates Rockport’s Differences Inside which is is based around the versatility and limitless possibilities of life as exemplified by each of the four celebrities featured in the campaign. (sic. You too could be one of them, in Rockport shoes). Seems there is life after hip hop after all. NaS may have declared hip hop is dead but continues to create his own signature footwear. The NaS footwear collection, "Street's Disciple" will be launched later this year in specialty shops. The main focus of the footwear range is the celebration of diversity which cleverly includes catering for feet of different sizes. 310 Footwear is a quality shoe maker and like their special automobiles, a quintessential luxury brand. Under an agreement, 310 Global Brands, Inc shall market and distribute the DISCIPLE Footwear Collection which NaS has helped to design. 310 Footwear is available in department stores, specialty stores and boutiques in the United States and select countries worldwide. This is 310's second venture into signature celebrity collections following the global success of The Game's Hurricane from 310 footwear. 310 Motoring started as purveyors of custom design innovations and services to create one-of-a-kind vehicles.
