Game boy platforms: museum pieces

Platforms are back in fashion and just in case you missed them shoe designer
Helen Red Richards was commissioned back at the turn of the century to produce platforms that incorporated Girls Sport Gameboys. Three pairs were created as a museum exhibit and used to promote 'Nintendo's 2001 Style Campaign.' Girls sport Game Boys were set into the heel or main body of the shoe and the exhibition footwear were colour-coordinated in hues of pink, green, purple and turquoise to match their handheld console add-ons. The shoes were exhibited in some art galleries in the UK and could be ordered through Nintendo. The shoes originally cost $2,000 (US) per pair and were described by Nintendo as being for the “club kids with attention deficit disorder.”
