Hanson, South Africa and TOMS shoes

After Hanson (Clarke Isaac, Jordan Taylor Hanson , and Zac Hanson)visited South Africa, last year the band wanted to help AIDS awareness for a country plagued by the disease. The band came up with the idea of “the walk” album and tour, last year. In their current tour to promote the album, fans can buy TOMS shoes at each venue. For every pair bought by fans the band personally purchase a pair for a child in need. Hanson encouraged their fans to meet for a one-mile walk for the cause and the band join in often barefoot, to raise awareness for the pressing need faced by so many in Africa. All proceeds from the single Great Divide went to African hospitals. The boys were back in South Africa recently delivering 50,000 pairs of TOMS shoes to children in need.
