Shoe-Fleur: A Footwear Fantasy: Michel Tcherevkoff

Michel Tcherevkoff is a French photo-artist of Russian decent initially graduated as a lawyer before becaming a professional photographer in New York. He soon established a reputation for his “reality-with-a-twist” images. Never interested in just photographing objects as they were he always added something to tease the mind. His Shoe-Fleur: A Footwear Fantasy, (2007) published by Welcome Books and distributed by Random House, features artfully designed shoes created from a variety of individual fresh flowers. The project took about a year to complete and the images consist of four “collections,” — fall, spring, resort and bridal. So popular has the book become, Michel Tcherevkoff is planning a follow up. Another book with a similar theme is The Botanical Footwear of Dennis Kyte(1998) Swann Island Books. Dennis Kyte is a marvelous illustrator.
