The soleogist shares her insights on the psychosocial/psychosexual aspects of shoe design in an attemtp to encourage women to read a man by his shoes. Donna discovered in her early relationships breaking up with boys coincided with a dislike of their shoes. She pondered the association between shoe choice and personality and found there was a significant link. In her writing she offers step-by-step methods to “read” any man by the shoes he wears. As clothing is a conscious choice and shoes often the last item to be considered there is sound justification in believing shoes may indicate more than just foot attire. William Rossi wrote of these matters thirty years ago in his wonderfully toe curling thesis, The Sexlife of the foot and shoe. Reading soles was established in antiquity and became a preoccupation of a Chinese Emporer who commission hundreds of volumes of text on the subject.
