Conterfeit designer shoes for Christmas

They say never give a friend new shoes for Christmas because they may walk away from you. Well the hope in LA is new shoes for Christmas may help the homeless to find their feet again. This Christmas all who attend the Union Rescue Mission shelters will recieve a new pair of shoes.

Counterfeit footwear seized by Los Angeles police in the Fashion District and elsewhere is being donated to the homeless. Under normal circumstances authorities would destroy these goods, but this Christmas they are being passed onto the homeless under a California law. On the provision the trademark holder consents, the fake goods can be given a second life and 5,000 pairs of shoes are going to the Union Rescue Mission on Skid Row. Another 5,000 are slated for the mission next month.

What a great idea! This is recycling to the max.
