National Walking Day Wednesday 11th April
The American Heart Association (AHA) is urging everyone to get out and walk this Wednesday (11th April). On "National Walking Day" the AHA are asking asking people to wear tennis shoes to work and also sneak in a 30-minute walk over lunch. The goal is to get people moving, who wouldn't normally do so during a normal work day. According to the American Heart Association, physically active jobs make up just 25% of the workforce. The American Heart Association also estimates that walking 1 hour can add 2 hours to your life expectancy. "National Walking Day" leads up to the 2012 Heart Walk.
