Mars Yard Shoe: Space Age Kicks

Nike in partnership with artist Tom Sachs the trainer maker, will be releasing a capsule collection of jackets, bags and shoes called Tom Sachs: NikeCraft which is set to celebrate the first commercial company to send spacecraft to the International Space Station. Headlining the limited collection will be the Mars Yard Shoe , ($385 US)which is made from the same material that was used in the airbags of the Mars Rover and detailing from the Lunar Overshoes used for the Apollo missions. The joint venture launches on the eve of Sachs's Space Program: Mars, an installation that will recast the 55,000sq/ft Wade Thompson Drill Hall at Armory Park, Manhattan, into an 'immersive space odyssey.'
