Sports watches:New technology

Sports watches have been used to track, calculate and encourage runners to reach their potential. Distance, pace, time, and mileage can all be recorded and later downloaded to the computer for further analysis of the data. Now new technology allows thee running accessories to make purchases with a debit card chip so no more having to run with money in your shoe or socks. The Vitab allows individuals to sign up for a service on line that has all of your medical information, so that if you were to get injured during a run there is an emergency number and you have your own personal number so that the emergency responders call in and find out important information about you.

The Nike edition of this type of watch runs about $170 (US). The Garmin edition, which even allows you to track distance in the water, runs about $400.
