Vibrams are summer's arresting success

Danny Glover was photographed wearing a pair when he was arrested at a US protest rally in 2010.

Vibram Five finger barefoot running shoes are poised to become this year's most desirable fashion accessory. Hollywood celebs like Danny Glover, Kate Hudson and Scarlett Johansson, are all fans of the casual footwear. In January, Shailene Woodley, wore a pair to a Golden Globe awards after-party with the toes of her Five Fingers poking out from beneath her evening gown. Created by Italian company Vibram for "barefoot" athletes the shoes are being snapped up by sun worshippers. Sales of Five Fingers are expected to double this year to 40,000 pairs - from 20,000 in 2011, giving the company a 2-million-pound turnover.
