Danica Patrick and shoes

Alpinestars is an Italian motorsports apparel company which make high quality racing boots and shoes made from kangaroo leather. Constructed from a variety of hardwearing and lightweightsuedes the uppers adjust to the wearers’ foot. Large, perforated panels in the uppers keep the feet cool. A roomy toe box adds comfort to the driving shoes with soles that are ultra thin under the ball of the feet thickening wedge style toward the heels. Shoe are designed to include a Velcro strap to hold the laces in place. Custom rubber formulation grips the pedals and the shoes are available in different colourways.

Danica Patrick is a professional auto racing driver, model and advertising spokeswoman. She is a lucky lady in one sense because she get to wear them when she is racing. However shoes have not always been her lucky charm. While she was leading a Nationwide Series race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal in 2012 , a spectator threw a shoe onto the track, and the shoe landed in the racing groove. As Patrick led the field back to the spot where the shoe was, she ran it over squarely and its remains shot out from underneath her car. Patrick's car immediately started to lose the handling and eventually a bracket or a bolt came out from underneath her car. She finished 26th, six laps down.
