Ridebro loafers: vegan footprints all over the world

Ridebro loafers are all vegan shoes made from organic canvas uppers glued to soles with a water based glue. The eco-friendly footwear retail at $45 and was the brainchild of Estefania Alamo.

According to her website a portion of profits from every pair of shoes sold goes to support SurfAid . This is a charitable organisation working in the Mentawai Islands of Indonesia to help facilitate improved access to clean water for the Islanders. SurfAid came to international attention after the Indian Ocean earthquake in 2004 when it provided medical aid to its victims. It was able to reach people on small islands, who were among the hardest hit, because it used small boats and local knowledge. SurfAid announced a multi-year project to control malaria throughout the Mentawai Islands in cooperation with the Indonesian government and UNICEF in 2007. SurfAid has continued to expanded its work in the region and received several international awards for its efforts.
