Bernie Mev Shoes want to prevent patent infringement

Bernie Mev is a line of shoes with rubber soles and elasticized uppers made of stretchy material woven in a basket-weave pattern. Introduced into the US in 2008 they have become popular because of their style and comfort. Now bigger companies are selling clone shoes much to the consternation of the owners who have been forced to take legal action to prevent patent infringement and protect their intellectual property. Bernie Mev shoes are made off shore in China and involve a lot of work as each shoe is hand woven.
