Neon Apostle: Christian Shoes




Ypulse is a youth marketing and millenial research firm, who attempt to provide strategic insight to companies and organizations via their custom research and consulting services. They conducted a consumer survey in 2016 and found people in the demographic range of 13 to 34 classified expressing individuality higher than flash high-end brand names in clothing. In another 2016 study conducted by Pew Research Center, a non-partisan fact tank, which provides information on social issues, public opinion, and demographic trends shaping the United States and the world, discovered 21% of millenials identified as evangelical Christians in USA.



Kenneth Yu, founder of Neon Apostle a Singapore-based e-commerce company combined these findings and decided to designed 11 Christian-themed casual shoes featuring traditional Christian motifs.



Inspired by professional basketballer Stephen Curry who started to draw Bible verses on his shoe, Yu’s Neon Apostle is the first footwear company in the world to combine functionality, faith and footwear. The company currently has a limited run of 199 pairs per design but intend to introduce a new children's line of shoes.
