A new slant on hide the slipper

In Brisbane Australia, a carpet python confused a man's slipper for food and swallowed it. The owner was looking for his missing slipper when he came across the slipper-eating snake. As soon as they saw the noticeable shoe-sized bulge in the snake's body, they started to connect the dots. The slippers were usually left at the side of the bed and it is thought a small creature may have sheltered in the slipper and the snake just took the whole package. The python was taken to a local vet and an X-ray confirmed the shoe was inside. After successful life-saving surgery, the slimey old shoe was back with its owner and the recovering snake will be released back into the wild in the near future.
